I try to not just post links with minimal commentary, but this tool is worth a look. I could play with this all day. I have to read about the methodology, and its hard to quantify the benefits of having your own yard for bonfires, and having whatever dog you want, but its still interesting.

I love all the extra detail options (tax bracket, percent fees, monthly increases, and property values and rent/rate rations per geographic area). They made it super-thorough.
If they had an input for income (ie. subletting rooms or garage), that would take it to the next level. But I guess calculations like those aren’t the purpose of that tool.
